To God Be the Glory

As the 2nd Annual Jim Greene Memorial Concert draws near, one song has played over and over in my head and I have to stop and take a moment to do what the words say.  I need to take a moment to sit back and reflect and thank God for all He has done to make this possible.  God has taken all of the details and has truly blessed us beyond all measure in how the details have come together.

I am excited that God has blessed the efforts to bring four groups to the stage here in Newland that truly express their hearts in song, as well as four groups of singers and musicians who are more than just artists after a paycheck, but ministers after souls.  It blesses my heart to know that not only will we be raising money for the scholarship fund, but that the message of God’s love and His sacrifice will boldly be shared from the stage at Avery High School.

The last year and a half have not been easy, but thanks to great community support, we have been able to give two scholarships, and we look forward to continuing this over the years to come.  Thank you from all of us to all of you who have contributed to the scholarship fund over the past few months, and a special thank you to everyone who has given of their time and funds to make this wonderful event possible.

As I continue to reflect on how God has made all of this possible, I think about His opening doors and dates to make sure that schedules did not conflict.  I think of how He has provided folks who can help in different areas to keep things in order without us having to worry about too many of the details.

I also feel that God will use this to minister to His people, and our hope and prayer is that someone will come to know God and be blessed by the message that will be shared.

As I said, I have seen God move through this and have seen that He has had His hand on it from the beginning and look forward to seeing what else He has in store for us on July 20.

If you have the opportunity to come and join us for a great night of fellowship as we come together to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Don’t miss the opportunities you have today to thank God for His work in your life.  It may be that you can’t physically see everything that He has done, it may even be that you are going through a trial that if you are able to just wait, He will make a blessing.

God takes our troubles and makes them a blessing for His children.  If we are attentive and focus on His word today, God will bless us.  I close with a verse from Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Work for His purpose today, and know that all things work together for good for those who love Him.
